Fifth In Oak Barrel Aging Kit

Fifth In Oak Barrel Aging Kit

The #1 tool for barrel-aging cocktails, wine, spirits, and more.

Take your beverage of choice and craft something that’s uniquely yours in just a few days. Perfect for cocktail aficionados, spirit lovers, home brewers, and adventurous bartenders (amateur and professional). When the coil is put in a sealed jar with your favorite spirit (or wine), it rehydrates and expands to fill the jar, aging from both sides of the wood. This means you can age your spirits in 3-10 days, based on the taste profile you’re looking to achieve, and not weeks.

Get three coils of White Oak, Cherry, and Sugar Maple, or a sampler containing one of each. Each coil is good for 3 uses, so that’s 9 liters of delicious experimentation!

The perfect jar for aging your latest creation on your bar or kitchen counter. The seal isn’t quite air-tight, which still allows the spirit to breathe – an important part of the aging process.

How it Works

Fifth In Oak is a thin slice of Missouri white oak (or cherry, sugar maple, or hickory) that’s charred on both sides, then steamed and curled to fit in a jar. When placed in a jar with your drink of choice, the wood rehydrates and the coil expands to fill the jar. This solution has many advantages over traditional barrels:

  • No leaks, no headaches – Barrels need to be hydrated and conditioned before use, and often still leak. With the glass jar, you only get a small amount of evaporation.
  • Experiment with different woods – With barrels, you get oak. That’s it. Don’t let our name fool you – try Fifth In Oak kit using sugar maple, cherry wood, or hickory to add another layer of flavor to your creation.
  • See the progress – The glass jar allows you to see your beverage changing color inside, so it’s easier to track the progress and see how much is left inside.
  • Way more versatile – The glass jar is easier to fill and empty, and it’s wide enough to add things like fruit so you can infuse your spirit as it ages.
  • Fits in a fridge – Want to experiment with perishable ingredients? Stick your jar in the fridge while it’s aging.
  • Multiple uses – the wood coils are good for about 3 uses. Make the same thing 3 times or mix things up – the flavor of your first batch will add depth to your next creation.

Fifth In Oak makes it possible to make unique barrel-aged creations you can’t get any other way. Here are just a few ideas to inspire you…
